If you dig beer, you will definitely dig San Diego Beer Week. Beginning November 1, 2013, this ten-day festival stretches across the entire county of San Diego and it's geared to inspiring attendees to drink local, craft beer. A multitude of events are designed to promote the city's shining culture of brewing and help attendees understand its regional brewing heritage. In addition, Beer Week shines a bright light on San Diego's breweries, pubs, restaurants, and businesses that are connected to the community of craft brewers. That shouldn't be a real challenge. There are over 50 breweries in the city, which has found itself with a very serious international reputation for creating beers that win one award after another. At the 2010 World Beer Cup, San Diego's breweries came away with more medals than the countries of Belgium, England, and Germany combined. What's more, at the 2011 Great American Beer Festival, it snagged 20 medals. It's pretty common to hear San Diego, both the city and county, be referred to as the craft beer capital of America. Readers of "Men's Journal" will recall that San Diego was number one in its list of Top Ten Beer Towns in the United States. And the "Full Pint" called San Diego one of America's finest craft beer destinations. See for yourself at San Diego Beer Week, which is being sponsored by Unified Port of San Diego, Taphunter, West Coaster, FM 94.9, and The Country Malt Group.
