Springtime means the return of baseball. In San Diego, we cheer for our home team, the San Diego Padres. Last year they finished 5th in their division; will they do even better this year?
We’ve been cheering for the Padres since 1969. Their best season was 1998, when they won the National League Pennant, and we’re due for another great year! They play their home games at Petco Park, and the San Diego Padres schedule in April has home games versus the Giants, the Diamondbacks, and the Marlins.
There are pre-game happy hours at the park on Friday. Stick around for the post-game laser show after the Giants game on April 8, or bring your kids to any Sunday game for KidsFest. Check out the calendar for more game-day special events, like Taco Tuesday and CocktailFest, plus giveaways!
Single game tickets start at $18, and there are discounts for first responders and members of the military. Even if you can’t make a game, you can still see Petco Park. Tours take you behind the scenes and into the dugout and press box.
Petco Park is just a few miles from Best Western Plus Island Palms. You can watch the game and head back to the resort to celebrate your team’s victory in the Blue Wave Bar & Grill. If you’re revved up, burn off some energy with a game of tennis or bike ride. We’ll loan you the rackets or bicycle! You can also simply soak in our hot tubs to unwind.
