The Fourth of July means fireworks! Come to San Diego, where you’ll find great fireworks all over town, plus great ways to combine them with other fun activities.
Fireworks and a County Fair
San Diego’s county fair is the biggest in the country, and it closes out this year’s season on July 4. There’s an Old West theme to the fair, and you’ll find tons of entertainment, exhibits, and attractions. Plus lots of good ol’ American fried foods and a big fireworks display at the end of the day.
Fireworks and a Harbor Cruise
San Diego’s harbor is gorgeous under sunlight, moonlight, and the light of fireworks. Hornblower Cruises has great harbor tours and dinner cruises all year long. The July 4th cruise adds the bonus of fireworks. Catch them overhead and look back to shore to see them reflected in our glassy skyline!
Fireworks and the Beach
For many people, southern California and San Diego are synonymous with the beach, and no wonder: we have 70 miles of coastline and more than a dozen great stretches of sand. Spend your day at Ocean Beach on July 4, and linger after dark for fireworks off the pier.
Fireworks, Fireworks, and More Fireworks
If you just can’t get enough fireworks, you’ll want to take in the Big Bay Boom on the 4th of July. This is the biggest fireworks display in San Diego, with choreographed explosions launching from barges at six locations around the harbor, including Shelter Island.
