Family Guy Creator Sings at Bayside – Best Western Plus Island Palms

Seth McFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, is also a talented vocalist in the style of smooth crooners of the ’40s and ’50s. He’ll be performing songs from that era with the San Diego Symphony Bayside in Embarcadero Marina Park on August 12 & 13.

A Multi-Talented Artist

Seth McFarlane is best known as the creator or co-creator of the animated TV series The Family Guy, American Dad!, and The Cleveland Show. He brought big laughs to the big-screen audience as a co-writer of Ted and its sequel.

He’s less known but equally talented as a singer. While his TV and film work plays to a modern sensibility, his vocal stylings capture the sensibility of an older era, when men kept it cool and women swooned over guys who crooned. He claims Frank Sinatra as his idol, and has three albums that emulate that sound.

Performing at Top Halls

McFarlane’s performed at top music venues including Carnegie Hall. Now he’s bringing his talent to the San Diego Symphony’s Bayside summer pops concert series in Embarcadero Marina Park. The lush orchestral arrangements are the perfect accompaniment for the sentiments of the Great American Songbook of the ’40s and ’50s.

Leave the Show Singing

Some of the songs at the show will be little-known gems, while others will be the songs you danced to growing up. You’ll leave the show singing, and maybe feeling like dancing. Head back to the Best Western Plus Island Palms and dance under the stars along our waterfront paths, letting the joyful feeling carry you back to your room.
