Holiday Celebrations at Seaport Village San Diego

San Diego is a city with an endless amount of fantastic destinations to offer locals and visitors alike. Chief among them: the shopping, dining and entertainment center of Seaport Village. This appealing oceanfront haven is truly one of the facets of our local culture that makes “America’s Finest City” exactly that. And it truly comes alive during the holidays, with special events, gifts and more. Best of all? You can enjoy a joyful holiday atmosphere during your visit while also enjoying our famously mild and sunny winter weather. Here’s a look at the holiday happenings at Seaport Village San Diego.

What is Seaport Village?

Characteristically local spots around the city don’t get more uniquely “San Diego” than Seaport Village. This 14-acre beachside enclave is styled after a turn-of-the-century port town, and encompasses more than 50 unique shops and boutiques, 17 restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining, and a host of other attractions — all nestled in a walkable oceanfront spot that’s equal parts lively and inviting for folks of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life.

Holiday Events

The Holidays are a truly special time at Seaport Village. The entire campus comes alive with seasonal events of all kinds, and honoring countless treasured traditions. After needing to delay or outright cancel many holiday events in 2020, this year’s calendar is rapidly filling with festive things to do, including a Menorah-lighting ceremony, holiday-themed live entertainment, photos and breakfasts with the famous “Surfin’ Santa,” shopping specials, and much more.

Christmas All Year

While it’s true that Seaport Village is at its best during the holidays, there’s at least one corner of the Village where Christmas cheer is in the air every day. At Christmas All Year, shoppers can find holiday ornaments, home décor, clothing, food and gifts all year-round. Christmas All Year can be found in Unit 59 within the Carousel District, adjacent to the fountain. Stop in for a healthy helping of yuletide warmth anytime, and pick up some festive goodies!

50th Annual Bay Parade of Lights

The San Diego Bay Parade of Lights — one of the city’s most cherished holiday traditions — will mark its 50th year in 2021. And there’s no better place to see it than from Seaport Village! This time-honored festival will bring more than 80 boats to the waters off of San Diego, all lavishly decorated to dovetail with this year’s theme: “The 12 Days of Christmas.” More than 100,000 residents are expected to enjoy the brilliantly-bright parade on December 12 and 19.

Holiday Lights and Sights Tour

Given how beautiful the weather is here year-round, it can be easy to forget that the holidays are upon us. However, when you take the Holiday Lights and Sights Tour with Old Town Trolley, you’ll definitely feel the holiday spirit! They’ve recruited a crew of elves to help conduct the tours this year, which will take carol-singing riders past some of the area’s most festively decorated locales, including Old Town, Embarcadero, Balboa Park, and of course, Seaport Village.
