As the summer months heat up, we have some exciting events to highlight here in San Diego. July is Pride Month in San Diego, which kicks off a packed calendar of celebrations that aim to recognize and celebrate the lasting impact the LGBTQ community has had on history and society. It is a month celebrating the intersectionality of the community, and ensues in city-wide parades, block parties, and festivals throughout the month of July. The San Diego Pride Parade, followed by a festival held at Balboa Park, will take place on July 14. This years’ headlining act is TLC—it’s an exciting and fun-filled event you won’t want to miss!
The Month of July also ushers in the start of San Diego’s horse race season, or as the locals like to call it, “where turf meets the surf.” The Del Mar racing season is held annually from July to mid-September, at the historic Del mar racetrack.
