Old Town’s Fall Festival – Best Western Plus Island Palms

Enjoy an old-fashioned harvest celebration in San Diego at the Old Town Fall Festival October 14.

The event takes place at Old Town State Historic Park. Old Town is the original heart of San Diego, dating back to the days when we were still part of Mexico. You can visit old adobe homes and museums, chat with a blacksmith and pet the burros.

The festival will include special decoration and events. There’ll be old-fashioned games and events, including corn-shucking, bird feeder crafting, and painting pumpkins. Merchants will have special activities inside their stores, and the central plaza will host entertainment and a pumpkin-carving demonstration.

Old Town is also a great place for shopping and dining. Fiesta de Reyes inside the historic park is colorfully decorated with Mexican tiles and serves traditional Mexican cuisine. Other shops in the Bazaar del Mundo feature Mexican handiwork in tile, wrought iron, and furniture. The main street of Old Town outside the park is also lined with shops and restaurants.

After you’ve spent the day enjoying life as it was lived more than a century ago, head back to Best Western Plus Island Palms Hotel and Marina for the best of modern comfort. Relax in your room or by the pool, play a game of tennis or stroll or bike our waterside paths. Make your reservation!
