One of the most popular activities for a reason, the addition of cycling has proved to be a major benefit for visitors looking to get some physical activity while sightseeing. If you and your family love the calm of fishing, Shelter Island has just the place for you. The Shelter Island Pier is a scenic point to take in the views and cast lines for a variety of species, including bonito, barracuda, calico bass, halibut and more. The Pier is open from 6 AM-10:30 PM, and no fees are required.
A great option for families with kids, this is also totally free. There are several slides, a swing set, and a climbing structure, plus the views of the water. Take it easy while the kids play, and don’t forget to bring your sunscreen.
